Expert Uncertainty: Arguments Bolstering the Ethos of Expertise in Situations of Uncertainty

Abstract Arguably, one of the defining traits an expert is certainty knowledge. So, what happens when experts in a critical situation public simultaneously must recognize uncertainty about knowledge and argue for specific policies actions? This has been challenge many national health during COVID-19 crisis. We examine such argumentative strategies by asking: are used attempting to secure bolster ethos expertise also acknowledge insufficient knowledge?
